Alfred Malherbe
Alfred Malherbe (1804–1865) was a French naturalist and magistrate known for his work in ornithology. He authored the Monographie des Picidées, a detailed four-volume study of woodpeckers, published in 1861-1862. Malherbe also studied the birds of Algeria and Sicily and contributed to the Museum of Metz, where he served as administrator. His work is celebrated for its detailed illustrations and descriptions of bird species.
