Allan Brooks (1869–1946) was a British-born Canadian ornithologist and artist renowned for his detailed bird illustrations and significant contributions to ornithology. Born in Etawah, India, he moved to Okanagan Landing (now part of Vernon, British Columbia) in 1905. Brooks’ passion for birds led him to create a sanctuary on his property, attracting over 34 species. His artwork graced publications such as National Geographic and the Audubon Society. Today, his legacy is honored at the Allan Brooks Nature Centre in Vernon.
